The Wiki community is thriving and there are conferences and events nearly every day. But until now, there was no central place to find them. This has just changed
.
The Wiki Event Calendar let's you easily see the next upcoming wiki events and filter them by location or keywords. All registered WikiMatrix users are invited to add new wiki related events.
The calendar data can be subscribed in RSS and iCal formats. Events related tocertain engines will also show up on the detail pages of the appropriate wikis.

Andi, nice addition. As a feature suggestion, I'd like to be able - as a registered user - to say "I'm attending this" (à la upcoming.com) to make the calendar more interactive than a read-only news page. For instance, I'd be curious to know how many wiki developers will be attending Wikisym 08.

Dartar, thanks for the feedback. We were thinking about this, but weren't sure if people want yet another social calendar
. But now that you have asked for it...

... we deliver :-). You now can join events you plan to attend. We also did some layout fixes, added some Google maps for eyecandy and made the calendar URLs a bit shorter.
